成立於1965年的德州密集英語訓練課程Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP)是德州最有名的語言訓練機構，為有45年教學經驗的非營利機構。整個奧斯汀市其實更像是一座大學城。TIEP位於德州的首府奧斯汀，也是全美最佳公立大學之一的德州大學奧斯汀分校University of Texas, Austin的所在地，是全美第二大的大學，學術氣息濃厚，整個奧斯汀市其實更像是一座大學城，娛樂與文化活動?多，終年氣候溫和、景觀宜人，同時也是全球高科技?業的重鎮，更在1988年被財星Fortune雜誌選為全美最適合人居住的城!，這些特質讓奧斯汀市成?全美最適合生活與就學的地點之一。
TIEP 課程分為6個級數，提供校園準備英語、商務英語以及一般溝通及文化課程。TIEC 是由32所德州公立大學所組成的非營利性組織，協助進入德州的公立大學體系就讀，所有的教師均擁有英語/語言教學碩士或博士學位，和豐富的教學經驗，有海外工作經驗和至少兩年以上的教學經驗。多國籍小班制教學，每班人數約 8 至 16名學生，每學期的學生來自大約 25 個國家，每周 20 小時課程，周一至周五上午8:30至12:30上課，另加電腦與語言實驗室課程。 |

1.English for Academic Purposes 學術英語課程
- Focus: University Preparation
- Listening: Lectures, discussions, note taking, TOEFL practice
- Speaking: Academic discussions and presentations, debates, panels, conversations, pronunciation
- Reading/Vocabulary: General topics, vocabulary and idioms, TOEFL practice
- Writing: Compositions, essays, research papers, journals, word procession, TOEFL practice
- Grammar: Systematic and comprehensive approach, TOEFL practice
- Projects: Internet and library research, academic projects

2.English for Communication and Culture 溝通與文化交流英語課程
- Listening : Communicative activities, videos, guest speakers, films, discussions
- Speaking: General and cultural discussions and dialogues, prepared and impromptu presentations, pronunciation
- Reading/Vocabulary: Varied topics of general and cultural interest, vocabulary and idioms
- Writing: Personal correspondence, creative writing, journals, compositions, word processing
- Grammar: Systematic approach with emphasis on communication
- Projects: Community-based research and reports, class newspapers or booklets, video projects
- Field Trips: Three to five cultural field trips
- Homework: Two to four hours per day

3.English for Business and Careers Program 商用英語課程
- Focus : Business concepts, practices, and settings
- Speaking: Business presentations, negotiations, telephoning, meetings, interviews, discussions of case studies, social interactions, pronunciation
- Reading/Vocabulary: Business-related and intercultural topics, vocabulary and idioms
- Writing: Business letters, memos, proposals, reports, announcements, résumés, word processing
- Grammar: Systematic approach with emphasis on business purposes
- Projects: Business plans, conferences, and publications
- Field Trips: Local companies, business organizations, governmental offices, professional events
- Homework: two to four hours per day

住宿及餐飲 |

TIEP協助安排住宿家庭及當地的學生宿舍給前往奧斯汀的學生。學生宿舍大多需長期合約，大多不含餐，許多宿舍提供電腦房、游泳池、健身中心等設備。住宿家庭則是名額有限，需提早申請。 |

I have had a lot of new experiences in Austin. First of all, this is my first time to live with an American family and speak English all the time. Before I came to TIEP, I hadn't studied at an English school. Second, I experienced holidays of the United States, for example, Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Third, I attended the South by Southwest Music and Film Festival in Austin. In my memory Austin is a wonderful place. I am glad to come here and happy to meet all of my friends in TIEP.
